Special train yeswanthpur to nagercoil
Special trains will be run between Yeshwantpur and Nagercoil to clear the extra rush during holidays.
Train 0651 Yeshwantpur-Nagercoil Special will leave Yeshwantpur at 9 pm on Dec 27, Jan 3, 10 and 17 and reach Nagercoil at 1 pm the next day. Train 0652 Nagercoil-Yeshwantpur Special will leave Nagercoil at 3 pm on Dec 28, Jan 4, 11 and 18 and reach Yeshwantpur at 8.25 am the next day. It will run from Yeshwantpur via Banaswadi, Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Erode, Karur, Dindigul Madurai, Virudnagar, Satur, Kovilpatti, Vanchimaniyachi, Tirunelveli and Vallyur to reach Nagercoil.

India's first bullet train
The ministry of railways has floated a global tender for conducting a pre-feasibility study for constructing two corridors at the Delhi-Chandigarh-Amritsar”and Pune-Mumbai-Ahmedabad”sections of Indian Railways.
Railway officials said construction work for the project would take at least five years to complete.

Abhinav Bindra - Indian Shooter
India's first ever individual Olympic gold medallist Shooter Abhinav Bindra's gold medal winning performance in the Beijing Olympics has got him free rail travel by air-conditioned first class for the rest of his life.
Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Monday announced a free lifetime train travel pass for him which is valid for first class AC travel by all the trains including Shatabdi and Rajdhani trains.

Indian Rail System
Indian Railways are the largest rail network in Asia and the world's second largest under one management. Indian Railways is a multi-gauge, multi-traction system covering over 1 lakh track kilometres,3800 yards, 2400 goodsheds and 750 repair shops.
